We have completed two treks so far with our guide and host Prem Lama, Panauti yesterday and Balthali today. Both treks have taken us through the countryside with forests, terraced rice fields and villages. This area has lots of old temples and buildings built in the Newari style using red brick and detailed wood carving that are hundreds of years old. The rice harvest is in full swing so we were able to meet villagers working in the fields. For some reason one seemed to be very interested in Stephen Harper, maybe a relation. Tomorrow more hills as we climb up to Nanabhuddha in the hills between here and Dhulikhel, it looks like we will be staying in the monastery there f
or the night. Tonight we are in a very nice hilltop resort.Prem's's Restaurant
